Q: What is SR22 insurance required for in cases other than the ones you listed above? For how long?
A: In some cases SR22 insurance what is also called DUI insurance, can also be required for periods of time other than three years, depending on why your license was suspended. Here are some more cases.
- If your license was suspended because you did not pay for damages or injuries from a car accident, whic you agreed in writing to pay for. You only need to file the SR22 when you go get your license.
- If you are at fault for an accident and your license was suspended. You only need the sr22 on file when you get your license back.
- If your license is suspended because a judge in court was unsatisfied with something concerning an accident. As above, you only need to have the SR22 on file for when you reinstate your driver’s license.
- If your license was revoked and you are given an employee drive permit in the meantime, you need to have an SR22 on file while you have that permit.
